We usually do not start off our bios with "sad" stories, but Hope's story of survival is worth telling.
Two months ago, "Hope" was found wandering in her neighborhood having escaped her backyard for the 20th time that month. She was neglected by her owner who eventually lost his home (thank god) and moved out of state (even better) but not before leaving her hungry, without water and covered by Demodectic mange; the NON contagious type that made 90% of her hair fall out.
But, Hope never lost her spirit. Friends of NDDR got her all cleaned up and treated, and now she is a GORGEOUS baby girl looking for her forever family.
Picture a "mini Rottweiler" and that is Hope. She is only about 35 lbs and needs to gain about 5-8 more pounds. Here beautiful fur has grown in and is balck, silky and thickening every day. She is lean, has a natural bobtail, fawn-colored legs and the sweetest face you could ever see.
Hope still needs a lot of training. She is house-broken and crate-trained but she is so happy to be loved and "free" that she will still hop from sofa to sofa and jump up on your guests. While she LOVES children, we think the family who adopts her should have older children or those with a lot of dog tolerance and experience.
Hope is gentle, sweet and wants nothing more than to be by your side, licking your face, cuddling and knowing the first real family love (beside ours of course) and the sense that she is HOME forever.
Please think about bringing HOPE home for the holidays! This is a TRUE rescue story and when you see her original pictures you will know how far she has come and how lucky you are to know her.
